Tranmere Rovers have released seven players following the completion of their League One campaign.

The list is headed by defender Marlon Broomes, 33, who scored once in 42 appearances after joining the club in September 2009.

Max Blanchard, Joe Collister, Nick Wood, Ryan Fraughan, Sam Morrow and Jack Mackreth are also leaving.

Aaron Cresswell, Adam McGurk, Mark McChrystal and Lucas Akins have been offered new deals.

Loanees Robbie Weir and Michael Kay have been offered permanent deals, while the club are also in discussions with Andy Robinson and Tony Warner.

Tranmere boss Les Parry told the club website: "I'd like to thank the seven players for their time at Prenton Park and wish them all the best for the future.

"We know which areas of the squad we want to improve on next season and will be doing everything we can over the summer to bring in the players we feel can do that."
