Nine out-of-contract Swindon Town players are currently in limbo about their futures at the club.

The players, including captain Jonathan Douglas and defender Scott Cuthbert held one-to-one meetings with club chairman Jeremy Wray on Monday.

Defender Cuthbert told BBC Wiltshire: "Until the manager is appointed I will have to wait and see.

"I have had two years here and I have loved every minute of it. If I am here next season I will be delighted."

The other players out of contract are goalkeepers Jakub Jesionkowski and Marc Scott, defenders Lescinel Jean-Francois, Nathan Thompson and Alan Sheehan, midfielder Michael Timlin and striker Vincent Pericard.

Swindon, who were relegated to League Two, have been without a permanent manager since Paul Bodin took over from Paul Hart and Ian McParland on a temporay basis at the end of last month.

"There is no news as yet," Cuthbert added. "There needs to be a manager appointed first, they make the decisions on players as they pick the teams.

"One point that was raised during the meeting with Jeremy is that we will stay in touch over the summer.

"We need to be honest with each other about different things. Between that and my agent talking to Jeremy, we will all be kept updated and then hopefully when a manager is appointed then we can get an answer and start moving forward next year.

"If the clause in my contract gets triggered then I will be happy to stay here and hopefully we will go up at the first time of asking."
