Ipswich Town have confirmed reserve team manager Chris Kiwomya has left the club by mutual consent.

The ex-Town striker, 41, returned to Portman Road to head up the side's second string in July 2008.

Despite winning the reserve league this season Ipswich will not be re-entering the competition next term and will instead arrange friendlies.

"I have enjoyed my time at Ipswich Town and wish the club every success," Kiwomya told the club website.

"I hope they win promotion and get back in the Premier League where they belong."

Kiwomya, who also played for Arsenal and QPR, scored 51 goals in 224 league games for Ipswich between 1987 and 1995.
