Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson wants to add a striker to his squad before the new season starts.

The Silkmen's top two scorers last season have left the club with Tyrone Barnett joining Crawley Town and Hamza Bencherif moving to Notts County.

Simpson has revealed the club already have a number of offers pending.

He told the club website: "We do have room left in the budget to bring in another forward, and we've already got some offers on the table."

The 50-year-old has already added Ben Tomlinson and Tom Fischer to compete with current strikers Vinny Mukendi and Emile Sinclair, but is willing to be patient in his pursuit for another signing.

"I'm not rushing in to anything," he added

"We want to bring someone in, but I'll hold my nerve to make sure we get the best player for the best deal that we can."
