Kettering Town have signed former York City and Oxford United defender Djoumin Sangare on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old was released by the U's this summer after making four appearances during a short-term deal.

The French-born centre-back also counts Salisbury and Lewes amongst his former English clubs.

His signing bolsters the Poppies' defence, with manager Morell Maison adding Jerel Ifil and extending Marcus Kelly's contract in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Kettering Town are set to bring in a new goalkeeper imminently.

"I've decided to offer Laurie Walker a contract in the next couple of days," Maison told BBC Radio Northampton.

The 21-year-old is a former MK Dons, Cambridge United and Morecambe player, who impressed in the Poppies' 1-1 pre-season friendly draw with Leicester City on Tuesday.
