Morecambe 0-1 Barnet

Mark Byrne's superb late strike gave Barnet all three points at Morecambe.

Anwar Uddin miscued an overhead kick for the visitors and Stewart Drummond hooked over for the Shrimps in a busy opening period.

Clovis Kamdjo's excellent last-ditch tackle stopped Izak Reid giving the hosts the lead after the break.

Izale McLeod wasted a good chance for the Bees before Byrne thundered home a magnificent strike from 35 yards to give Barnet the win.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Barnet manager Lawrie Sanchez told BBC London 94.9:

"I said to the players at the beginning of pre-season: I saw you celebrating on the field at the end of the season but really you were celebrating avoiding failure.

"Let's celebrate something more than that.

"We have had a good pre-season, we've been undefeated in our pre-season games and team spirit is building."
