Premiership new boys Carrick Rangers have added former Slovakian Under-19 goalkeeper Maros Valko to their squad ahead of the new season.

The 22-year-old has recently been playing in America.

Stephen Small's side also welcome midfielder Andy Smith from Loughgall while Anthony Lagan, Paul McDowell, Glenn Taggart, Andy Long and James Braniff have signed new deals.

Midfielder Noel Anderson has left his hometown club however.

Carrick return to the top flight for the first time in 16 years when they travel to Cliftonville on Saturday.

Meanwhile Portadown have confirmed the signing of former Glenavon goalkeeper Tuda Murphy.
