Saturday's 3-0 win over Crewe was Di Canio's first game in charge at Swindon

Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio has revealed he is looking to bring in two strikers on trial instead of signing Uruguayan Nicolas Raimondi.

Forward Raimondi, 26, had been training at the County Ground last week but Di Canio told BBC Wiltshire: "I won't sign him now.

"He's a player who can join us but I want to be sure about another two situations in the next few days.

"We're going to check on one, maybe two strikers that will come on trial."

Raimondi spent last season at Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv and has also played in Cyprus and Bolivia.

Di Canio has made a total of 12 signings this summer and has increased his forward options with Raffaele De Vita, Alan Connell and Mehdi Kerrouche.

In his first game in charge on Saturday he led Swindon to a 3-0 win over Crewe.
