Darlington captain Ian Miller has revealed he may be required to undergo an operation to clear up an ongoing hernia problem.

The 27-year-old defender has made 10 league appearances for the Quakers this season, despite picking up the injury during pre-season.

"It's disappointing at any point of the season," Miller told the club website.

"On a positive note I'll hopefully be able to get to the bottom of what's been a long-running problem."

Miller joined Darlington in January 2008, having enjoyed a profitable spell on loan with the club from Ipswich Town in February 2007.

He was captain of the side that beat Mansfield Town 1-0 in the 2011 FA Trophy final at Wembley in May.
