Morecambe's Nick Fenton looks for defensive awareness
Morecambe defender Nick Fenton believes cutting out individual errors will see the Shrimps return to winning ways.
After starting with just two defeats from their opening 10 games, Morecambe have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six games.
"All of us in the back five have confidence in our own abilities," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We've got a good midfield in front of us and we all need to work hard for the opposition to come through us."
Morecambe manager Jim Bentley made his squad watch a full re-run of last Saturday's 2-1 defeat by AFC Wimbledon.
And Fenton believes learning the lessons from that game could define the rest of the season, starting with a trip to Southend at the weekend.
"We play the next three or four games against teams that are fancied to be right up there," he said.
"If we do well against them we know we'll be fighting for promotion at the end of the season.
"But we don't want to look any further than our next game.
"We don't fear [League Two leaders] Southend. We know we can go down there, do well and hopefully get a result."
