Rochdale 1-1 Chesterfield

Gary Jones' equaliser rescued a point for Rochdale against Chesterfield.

The Spireites went ahead after Craig Westcarr's shot from the edge of the area was deflected past Dale keeper David Lucas by Neal Trotman.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro missed a great chance for the hosts, blasting wildly into the side netting when put clean through on goal by Andrew Tutte.

Leon Clarke fired over the crossbar for the visitors, before Jones struck Reece Gray's pass past Greg Fleming.

Gray provided Rochdale spark - Eyre

Rochdale manager Steve Eyre told BBC Radio Manchester:

"I think it was a fair draw in the end. I wouldn't say I was pleased but I'm satisfied with it.

"Reece sparked us off I think and thankfully he found the perfect weight of pass for Gary Jones.

"We've stumbled across 4-4-2 since the Bury game. That's one defeat in six for us, and it's a good way for us."
