Dundee United manager Peter Houston has confirmed that he will not assist Scotland boss Craig Levein for next month's friendly in Cyprus.

United are on a run of just two wins in their last 11 games.

And Houston has elected to remain at Tannadice when Scotland travel to take on the Cyprus on 11 November.

"I spoke to Craig and we agreed that it was not the most important game for me to be at," Houston told BBC Radio Scotland.

"We'll do extra work on the training ground because it's important for the manager to be around when things aren't going as well as you'd like them to.

"But I will continue to work alongside Craig when it comes to the World Cup qualifying games. It's something that's good for me and good for the club as well."
