Portsmouth have signed Manchester City attacking midfielder Abdul Razak on a month-long loan.

The 18-year-old, who was born in the Ivory Coast, has made four appearances for City and could make his Pompey debut against Derby on Saturday.

Pompey joint caretaker manager Guy Whittingham told the club website: "Abdul is a gifted midfield player who Manchester City think very highly of.

"It's a great opportunity for him to come here and get some experience."

City boss Roberto Mancini said: "He's a talented footballer and a very good young man. I believe he has the ability to become a very important player for Manchester City."
