John Cunningham has been appointed as Lisburn Distillery's new manager with Glenn Ferguson acting as his assistant.

Cunningham takes over from former Northern Ireland goalkeeper Tommy Wright who resigned to become number two to Steve Lomas at St Johnstone.

Distillery have lost their last six Premiership fixtures and are just two points ahead of bottom club Glenavon.

Cunningham, part of Wright's backroom team, has had spells in charge of Limavady, Dungannon and Institute.

Willie McFaul is to be Distillery's chief scout.
