Winger David Pipe extends Newport County deal
Former Wales international David Pipe has signed a contract at Newport County until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old winger joined the Blue Square Bet Premier side in September on a non-contract basis but has now signed a longer deal at Spytty Park.
Pipe, Wales' former under-21 skipper, was given a chance to resurrect his career at County after being in prison.
He was jailed for 38 months in 2010 after fracturing the skull of another man in an unprovoked attack in Bristol.
Pipe, who can play anywhere across the midfield or at full-back, has played for Coventry City, Notts County and Bristol Rovers.
The Caerphilly-born player made one substitute appearance for Wales' senior side in their 2-0 friendly defeat against the United States in San Jose in 2003.
Pipe is a regular starter for Newport, playing in nine of their 12 games since his debut at Braintree on 17 September.
