Macclesfield 1-1 Accrington

Jayden Stockley's late leveller for Accrington denied Macclesfield a win.

The hosts went ahead when Shaun Brisley met a Sam Wedgbury corner and powerfully headed his side in front.

Stanley nearly equalised when Macclesfield's Jose Veiga spilled Sean Hessey's shot but Craig Lindfield fired the rebound into the side-netting.

But the visitors made it 1-1 as Stockley spun and shot to earn Accrington a draw, although they remain without an away win since February.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester:

Macc didn't work hard enough - Simpson

"We couldn't get the second one to kill them off and that was the problem.

"We've got to earn the right to play and work hard, and I don't think we worked anywhere near hard enough in the first half.

"I thought he (Shaun Brisley) was tremendous today and first-half I thought he almost played them on his own."
