West Brom line up contract talks with Roy Hodgson
West Bromwich Albion are set to hold contract talks with manager Roy Hodgson in the new year.
The 64-year-old guided the club to Premier League safety last season but his current deal expires in the summer.
The club said Hodgson's age may determine how much longer he wants to continue working in management.
"It's down to what he wants, but we're both aware of the situation and we'll probably look at it in the new year," said technical director Dan Ashworth.
"We are fully aware of Roy's contract situation - as is Roy.
"He is quite relaxed about it. We speak quite regularly about plans for next year.
"We've had some vague discussions about the fact we've got some important fixtures coming up and that we will probably sit down in the new year.
"Roy is a hugely experienced man and has been doing this for a long time so we will be very much bound by how much longer Roy wants to go on for.
"It's not quite so simple as him being 40 with at least 25 years left in the game."
