Race chief backs FA on Suarez
- From the section Football
Piara Powar, executive director of the Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network, backs the Football Association's decision to charge Liverpool's Luis Suarez with racially abusing Manchester Utd's Patrice Evra.
The anti-racist campaigner believes the Suarez case and the allegations surrounding England captain John Terry show how much of a problem racism continues to be in the English game.
The pair clashed during the teams' 1-1 draw at Anfield on 15 October and Uruguayan Suarez, 24, has denied Evra's claim that he used racist language to the France international.
