Guernsey FC boss Tony Vance says his side's 5-1 win over Warlingham in the Combined Counties League Division One was one of the best this season.

Matt Loaring gave Guernsey the lead before top scorer Ross Allen's penalty just before half-time.

Chris Mauger made it 3-0 before Warlingham scored a penalty but Jason Winch and Allen sealed the win.

Vance told BBC Guernsey: "It was probably one of the most satisfying performances from the team so far."

Warlingham had lost just once in the league since being beaten by Guernsey at Footes Lane in August and the win sees the islanders retain their 11-point lead at the top of the table.

"I was delighted," Vance said. "It was a magnificent effort and the performance by the guys showed tremendous character in a difficult game.

"It was one of those games when actually pretty much everyone of them to a man, even the subs, put in great performances."
