Selection dilemmas please Lincoln City boss Holdsworth

Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth says he is pleased to have several team selection options available to him.

Holdsworth made four changes to his side for Saturday's 3-0 Blue Square Bet Premier win over Ebbsfleet United.

"There were decisions to be made and that's what I'm paid to do," he told BBC Lincolnshire. "If they've earned the shirt it's hard to change things.

"But I don't have favourites, only people I know I can rely on. You manage each game knowing the opposition."

He added: "I'm not saying those boys didn't put in a performance last week but I knew what we were up against."

Holdsworth felt recent signings Tyrone Thompson and Jake Sheridan both impressed in their first starts for the Imps.

"He does the horrible part," said Holdsworth of Thompson.

"He's not glamorous but he does the things that everyone else is sometimes scared to do, and some of the challenges he put in, he could have got hurt.

"It's imperative that we have all kinds of players in the team and Jake put in a fantastic performance as well. He's a comfortable footballer and I want players who are happy with the ball."
