Leeds United are to name a suite in their new East Stand in memory of former title-winning midfielder Gary Speed, who died on Sunday.

The Welshman, who was found dead at his home at the age of 42, was part of the Leeds side that won the old First Division championship in 1992.

The Gary Speed suite will be officially named before Saturday's clash with Millwall at Elland Road.

It will be open for the first time when the Whites take on Barnsley.

The former Wales boss began his career at Leeds as a trainee in 1988 before going on to make 312 appearances, scoring 57 goals.

He left United for Everton in July 1996 before going on to play for Newcastle, Bolton and Sheffield United, where he had a brief spell as manager.

Leeds have also confirmed that their players will wear black armbands during the weekend Championship encounter.

There will also be a minute's applause before kick-off.
