Ebbsfleet United's Joe Howe grateful to have settled position
Ebbsfleet United defender Joe Howe says playing in the same position every match is helping his game.
The 23-year-old had been employed in various defensive or midfield positions in his two spells with the club but has played the last 10 games at left-back.
Howe told BBC Radio Kent: "Full-back is my position. That is where I want to play.
"I don't mind slotting into midfield where needs be but full-back, either side, is where I am comfortable."
Howe also added that, having played a lot of his career in midfield, he is particularly enjoying the attacking side of the full-back role.
"That's part of my game," he said. "If I'm not getting forward I think I'm ineffectual. It's good to get encouragement from the gaffer. He likes me getting forward trying to get in crosses."
Ebbsfleet are currently 16th in Blue Square Bet Premier in their first season since winning promotion.
Howe says they are happy with their tally of 26 points from the first half of the season.
"We're doing OK. I hope we can pick up a few more wins along the way in important games. We have a lot of long trips coming up. They're not nice journeys but we've got to do them," he said.
"Compared to some of these full-time teams who unlike us train every day we are doing OK. It's a mental thing. We have got a great set of lads, willing to work for each other."
