Villas-Boas denies 'freezing out' duo

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas denies "freezing out" Nicolas Anelka and Alex as the two players are asked to train separately from the first-team squad as the club prepares for their decisive Champions League tie against Valencia.

The 34-year-old Portuguese coach confirms that he has accepted transfer requests from both players, who are expected to move away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

Ahead of Tuesday's home tie with Valencia, a game that Chelsea must either win or draw 0-0 to progress to the knockout stage, Villas-Boas confirms that his side will stick to their attacking style and play "good quality possession football".
