Ferguson's faith in youth
- From the section Football
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists he has "trust" in his young squad after they crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday following defeat in Basle.
The 69-year-old Scot points to the criticism once levelled at other young United sides which since went on to achieve great success and believes his current side can do the same.
The two-time European Cup winner admits that losing Nemanja Vidic for the season will be a loss, but is confident his side have the players to cope.
Ferguson also clarifies his comments on the Europa League being a "punishment", remarks that have angered Uefa boss Michel Platini.
