Staffordshire businessman Mo Chaudry, who failed with a takeover bid to buy Port Vale in June, believes the club need one leader to move forward.

The League Two club have been under fan-based ownership since 2003.

And Chaudry has indicated that he would consider helping Vale, following the .

"We have had eight years of a fan-owned club and that experiment evidently has not worked," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"We've gone from one crisis to another crisis and from one committee to another committee.

"The club needs action, leadership, resource and someone that can take them to where they really belong."

Supporters are planning to protest against the current board of directors before Saturday's home game against Aldershot.

"I thought, like everybody else, that some positive change was going to happen," added Chaudry. "As a fan myself, I'm gutted by the whole thing.

"What the fans are trying to do is a necessary evil. It's been forced upon them. Obviously a lot of fans and shareholders feel let down in a big way."
