Confidence key for McLeish against 'formidable' Arsenal

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is hopeful his players can muster the self belief and confidence to deal with the 'formidable' threat posed by Arsenal and Robin van Persie during Wednesday night's Premier League clash at Villa Park.

With only two goals in their last five league outings, McLeish admits recent performances have not given Villa fans much to celebrate.

While for the Gunners, going into Wednesday night's game, the prolific Van Persie stands on 33 league goals in 2011 - one short of Thierry Henry's club record set in 2004.
