Nottingham Forest hope to extend Manchester City defender Greg Cunningham's loan stay when his current deal expires at the end of December.

The Republic of Ireland international, 20, joined Forest in October and his stint is due to end on 31 December after Forest host Cardiff City.

But the Reds are understood to be eager to keep Cunningham and hope to wrap up a deal in the coming days.

Cunningham has played nine games for Forest since moving to the City Ground.
