Pardew admits to striker frustration
- From the section Football
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew admits he will not be buying a striker in the January transfer window after the deal to bring the Mali international Modibo Maiga to the club fell through due to medical concerns.
Pardew says he will now focus on bringing a defender to the club.
Newcastle will come up against former Magpie Andy Carroll when they play Liverpool at Anfield on Friday, and Pardew backs the out-of-form striker to come good for the Merseyside club if he "gets a decent run in the side".
