Barton red 'unacceptable' - Poll

Former referee Graham Poll gives his verdict on QPR skipper Joey Barton's "unacceptable" red card versus Norwich and the "unbelievable" decision not to send off Chelsea's Frank Lampard against Wolves, saying a player's reputation can influence match officials.

Barton saw red for an off-the-ball incident with Bradley Johnson in QPR's 2-1 defeat by Norwich, while Lampard avoided being dismissed for his challenge on Adam Hammill in Chelsea's 2-1 win at Wolves.

Barton has since tweeted that the referee was "conned" by Johnson, while Lampard has admitted he was lucky to not see red for his tackle.

Poll does go on to agree with the sending off of Arsenal's Johan Djourou in their 2-1 loss at Fulham despite Arsene Wenger criticising the decision.

Graham Poll was speaking on Breakfast, which broadcasts weekdays 0600 to 0900 on Radio 5 live.
