Everton striker Victor Anichebe hopes his winner in Sunday's 1-0 victory over West Brom can spur the Blues on to a strong finish in the Premier League.

Anichebe returned to action after four months out with a groin injury.

"The players are saying I'm like a new signing because I've been out injured," Anichebe told BBC Radio Merseyside.

Anichebe relieved to be over injuries

"We've got Landon Donovan in as well and he's going to give us a big boost. Hopefully we can all add something to the team and end the season strong."

He added: "We always have a good second half to the season.

"In the future, hopefully we can have a good first and second half to the season. But we have had some bad injures so far."
