Annan Athletic 1-0 Clyde

Scottish Football League

Annan Athletic moved to within two points of second-place Alloa Athletic with victory over Clyde in the Scottish Third Division.

Sean O'Connor's long-range effort flew wide after 19 minutes and Annan went close again when Peter Watson's far-post header was saved by David Crawford.

An ambitious effort by Clyde's John Neill went wide before the break.

Another long-range effort by the visitors' Michael Oliver was tipped away by Alex Mitchell before Annan broke the deadlock.

O'Connor collected Aaron Muirhead's pass and drilled home on 64 minutes.

Paul Hay's free-kick did not test Mitchell as Clyde were consigned to defeat.
