Vauxhall Motors 3-2 Worcester City

Worcester City

Worcester City's Blue Square Bet North play-off hopes suffered a setback when they lost at Vauxhall Motors.

The home side took a fifth-minute lead when Josh Wilson profited from a Lee Ayres error but Paul Jones's own goal squared the game nine minutes later.

Craig Mahon restored Vauxhall's lead before the break before Cole Stockton (72) looked to have secured the points.

Mike Symons gave Worcester brief hope when he netted 10 minutes from time, but the Motormen held on for the win.

Our defendng was poor - Heeley

Worcester manager Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"First and foremost there were individual errors there but collectively we are not helping each other out.

"The communication channels appear to be very poor there and there is not a lot of confidence when goals are going in.

"That is something we need to look at but the first goal we conceded was a suicidal ball in an awful area so it was a poor decision and it's ended up in the back of our net."
