Cowdenbeath moved eight points clear at the top of Scottish Division Two after beating Airdrie United.

Lewis Coult fired straight at goalkeeper Connor Fairley as Cowden began to threaten.

Marc McKenzie slotted home from six yards to break the deadlock on 37 minutes.

The hosts' second came from the penalty spot, Mark Ramsay converting after Fairley had upended Coult in the area.
