LOOSEMORES CHALLENGE CUP QUARTER-FINALS

Airbus 4-1 Bala Town (Fri): Airbus took a huge step towards the semi-finals after a convincing home win over 10-man Bala in the first leg in Andy Preece's first game as manager.

The visitors lost Terry McCormick to a 17th-minute red card, and Mark Cadwallader put Bala ahead from the resulting penalty. He doubled the advantage a minute before the break.

Glenn Rule added a third after an hour before Gavin Cadwallader struck a fourth seven minutes later. Bala grabbed a late consolation through a Mark Allen own goal.

Carmarthen Town 1-0 Port Talbot Town (Fri): Mark Aizlewood marked his return as Carmarthen manager with a narrow quarter-final first leg win over Port Talbot.

Jack Christopher scored the only goal on 37 minutes, but the home side were indebted to goalkeeper Mike Lewis for protecting the advantage after saving Martin Rose's second-half penalty.

Prestatyn Town 1-1 Newtown (Sat): John Fisher-Cooke put the hosts ahead in the 28th minute, but the visitors levelled through Callum Wright with 28 minutes remaining.

Afan Lido 2-0 Aberystwyth Town (Sat): Two first-half goals gave Afan Lido a first-leg advantage over Aberystwyth.

Andrew Hill opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 12 minutes, and Mark Jones doubled the advantage on 26 minutes.
