Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray plays down Rhys Williams bid

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has told BBC Tees "as far as he's aware" the club have not received an offer from Bolton for Rhys Williams.

Reports suggested Trotters boss Owen Coyle had bid for long-term target Williams, 23, who was linked with a switch to Bolton last summer.

The Australia international has scored five goals in 78 games for Boro.

In addition, he made 17 appearances on loan at Burnley under Coyle during the 2008-09 season.
