Montrose 1-1 Annan Athletic

Scottish Football League

Annan Athletic battled back to claim a draw against Montrose but slipped 15 points behind Scottish Third Division leaders Alloa.

Montrose's Jamie Winter was unsuccessful with a speculative effort from 30 yards on 20 minutes.

But Winter's next effort from even further out flew past goalkeeper Alex Mitchell on the stroke of half-time.

Annan pressed for a leveller and won a penalty when Jack Steele was fouled in the box by Douglas Cameron, who was sent off for his challenge.

Aaron Muirhead coolly converted the spot-kick to earn a point for the visitors.
