Forest Green 2-1 Gateshead

Gateshead's play-off ambitions suffered a cruel blow following defeat away at Forest Green.

In a first half of few chances, the Tynesiders took the lead when Micky Cummins turned in Alan O'Brien's cross.

However, Tommy Wright was on hand to fire home the equaliser after the visitors' defence failed to clear.

Liam Henderson then put Rovers in front with a neatly taken goal and, despite heavy Gateshead pressure, the hosts stood strong to earn the win.

Hockaday - Changes won the game

"I thought we looked rusty which you'd expect after a three-week lay off, but we've managed to get our way back into it.

"It's not about personalities, it's about the team. Were in a position where we can make changes, and today they won us the game.

"I thought Jamie Collins was immense today. He's a good leader and presence and kept things simple.

"At the end of the day we just have to start clawing our way up the league."
