Ballymena United survived an early scare to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Irish Cup.

Derriaghy took the lead at the end of the first half when United defender Aaron Stewart deflected an Aaron Stewart cross into his own net.

Substitute Alan Teggart levelled after heading home a Curtis Woods cross from the right on the hour mark.

Davy Munster headed in on the 68th minute and Allan Jenkins ensured the Sky Blues' passage into the last eight.

Ballymena had some early chances, with Jordan Baker heading over and James Costello's effort being deflected for a corner by keeper John Rosbotham.

Derriaghy's goal gave them a shock half-time lead but Teggart relieved the home side's nerves with his equaliser.

Defender Munster found the net and went close again, before Jenkins fired a stoppage-time third to make sure of United's progress.
