Michael Hughes gets Carrick job on permanent basis
Former Northern Ireland star Michael Hughes has been appointed manager of Carrick Rangers on a permanent basis, the club announced on Monday night.
Hughes, the majority shareholder at the Irish Premiership club, had been in temporary charge since Stephen Small's sacking in December.
The immediate task for Hughes is to get Rangers out of relegation trouble.
They are currently bottom of the table and have not been able to play on their own Taylor's Avenue pitch all season.
Carrick are using the Seaview ground of Crusaders, where they have not managed a 'home' victory during the league campaign.
They play Donegal Celtic at the Shore Road venue on Friday night.
