Linfield 4-1 Carrick Rangers

Linfield stretched their lead at the top of the Premiership to nine points after beating the basement club.

Peter Thompson put the Blues ahead from the rebound after Philip Lowry hit a post but Shane Dolan levelled after good work from Paul Heatley.

Carrick frustrated Linfield until Jamie Mulgrew fired into the bottom corner to make it 2-1 after 78 minutes.

Substitute Daryl Fordyce added the third before Mulgrew slotted past keeper Paul Murphy to seal the victory.
