Hull 0-2 Coventry
Coventry climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time since October with their first Championship away win of the season at Hull.
Defender Liam Cooper's own goal, in his first league game for Hull in 18 months, handed a first-half initiative to the visitors.
And substitute Cody McDonald sealed the points with a late second.
A fourth straight defeat leaves ninth-placed Hull five points off the play-off places with six games remaining.
But Coventry stretched their unbeaten run to six matches as they moved above Bristol City by clinching back-to-back wins for only the second time this season.
Visiting striker Alex Nimely, who is on loan from Manchester City, hit the angle in the first half and was also denied by a great last-ditch challenge from Hull skipper Jack Hobbs seconds before the break.
Hull struggled to get going and Aaron Mclean was fortunate to avoid a second booking following a nasty second-half tackle on Richard Keogh.
