Harrogate Town boss Weaver stays confident of survival

Simon Weaver

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver remains confident of avoiding relegation from Blue Square Bet North after a 0-0 draw at home to Blyth.

Harrogate are two points above the relegation zone with two games remaining this season.

Weaver told BBC Radio York: "We wanted three points really but it was important not to lose it in the end.

"We've to get through this and if we can we'll go from strength to strength. We've had a lot to contend with."

Weaver urges Harrogate positivity

Weaver added: "A lot of our players haven't had regular games and you could see that after 20 minutes.

"But I was proud they dug in and it's another clean sheet - three games unbeaten and we've had two super games away from home.

"It's a pity we couldn't maintain those standards set in the previous two games.

"It's important to gain that point and instil in the defenders that belief from keeping a clean sheet."

Harrogate's next game is at Colwyn Bay who are just one point above them in the table.
