Oldham 1-1 Colchester

Oldham Athletic fought back to deny Colchester United and earn a vital point in their fight against relegation from League One.

Colchester took the lead when Oldham keeper Dean Bouzanis fumbled a shot into the path of Drey Wright, who scored from eight yards.

The Latics levelled after 68 minutes when Jose Baxter's header went in off the crossbar.

Oldham pressed hard for a winner but had to settle for the draw.

Dunne content with 'important' point

"It was a decent battling point. We're not happy we haven't won.

"I felt at half-time it was them or us. We controlled the game after the first 10 minutes.

"Credit to Oldham in the second half as they took the game to us.

"They scored, we had to do some defending which I thought we did very well. But the important thing is not to get beaten."
