Gary Hooper injury: Norwich City wait for news on striker
Norwich City are awaiting news on new signing Gary Hooper after the striker had a scan on a shin injury.
The 25-year-old was taken off on a stretcher in Saturday's friendly win over Panathinaikos - a week before the Premier League opener against Everton.
"He has gone to hospital for a precautionary X-ray. He got a whack on the side of his shin," Canaries boss Chris Hughton told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"We're hoping it's OK and just a whack that will be a bit sore for a while."
Hooper arrived at Carrow Road last month from Celtic for a reported £5m, contributing towards Norwich's most expensive summer of recruitment, with Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Leroy Fer, Nathan Redmond and Martin Olsson also joining in an estimated £25m of spending.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian has not featured in any pre-season games having suffered a knee injury earlier in the summer.
"We have a [training] game this week we'd like him to play some part in," said Hughton.
"He's a strong character and he has in some ways proven us wrong in games when we thought he wouldn't be able to play.
"We'll see how the week goes. What's more important is we have him for a long period of time."
