Annan Athletic 1-2 East Stirlingshire

Jordan McKechnie's third goal of the season sent East Stirlingshire three points clear at the top of League Two with a win away to Annan Athletic.

After an even start, Shire went in front just before the half hour when Iain Thompson converted from the spot following Peter Bradley's foul.

David Hopkirk equalised from close range after the break.

But McKechnie replied 90 seconds later to lift Shire clear of Clyde and Stirling Albion.

The midfielder provided a cool finish after being set up by Michael Herd.

Annan had been quick out of the traps in the second half and needed only four minutes to level through Hopkirk.

However, the joy was short-lived and there was more misery when Martin McNiff missed a chance to level, heading wide late on.
