Bury 1-3 Torquay United
Paul McCallum scored twice as Torquay ended a six-game winless run at Bury.
Torquay capitalised on sloppy defending to open the scoring after 18 minutes as Aaron Downes bundled the ball home from Kevin Nicholson's deep corner.
The Shakers equalised six minutes later when William Edjenguele laid the ball off for Nathan Cameron to slam home.
McCallum headed home another corner to put the Gulls back ahead and rounded off the win when he found the top corner from Elliot Benyon's cutback.
Torquay goalkeeper Martin Rice acrobatically saved from Cameron with the score 2-1 and Chris Sedgwick scored directly from a corner but it was ruled out for a foul on Rice.
The Gulls leapfrog Bury in the League Two table and are now one point above the Shakers and three clear of the relegation zone.
VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Torquay United manager Alan Knill told BBC Radio Devon:
"It's an outstanding away performance and thoroughly deserved. We set up really well, worked really hard on set-plays and I thought we were good value for the win today.
"When we needed to defend today we really did - we put bodies in the way and did everything we possibly could to stop them from scoring.
"We changed the team because we thought we could use Elliot [Benyon]'s attributes to stretch the opposition and he did, just when they were in the ascendency and thinking they were getting back into the game."
