Falkirk 4-1 Livingston

Rory Loy scored twice as Falkirk eased to a convincing Championship victory over poor travellers Livingston.

Will Vaulks put the Bairns ahead after 37 minutes and Loy added the second seven minutes after the break.

With Livingston unable to turn pressure into scoring chances, Craig Sibbald and Loy added two more at the other end.

It took a David McCracken own goal to reduce the arrears, but the visitors could not prevent a fifth defeat in six away games this season.

The Bairns hit the front when Livi failed to clear a free-kick and 20-year-old defender Vaulks was on hand to tap home his first goal for the club.

Early in the second period, Loy shot just wide of the target and had a header tipped over the crossbar, while Phil Roberts also had a chance to put Falkirk further ahead.

Loy did double the advantage when he cut inside and curled a left-foot shot past outstretched Livi goalkeeper Darren Jamieson.

On the hour mark, Sibbald took full advantage of an assist from Conor McGrandles to hit home a low shot and open his account for the campaign.

Loy slotted home his second after Jamieson could only block a Roberts shot.

Livi took heart from McCracken's own goal and almost added another when Andrew Barrowman went close late on.
