Forest Green Rovers 1-0 Nuneaton Town

Marcus Kelly gave Forest Green caretaker manager Scott Bartlett a winning finale against Nuneaton.

Ed Asafu-Adjaye made a crucial early block to deny Boro's Wesley York before goalkeeper Sam Russell foiled Louis Moult from the resulting corner.

Kelly then smashed home James Norwood's cross to punish the visitors.

Adrian Pennock, who was named Dave Hockaday's successor on Tuesday, will take charge for the first time against Lincoln on Saturday.

Post-match: Forest Green's Pennock

"We were a little bit nervous in the first 20 minutes and then we settled down a bit and got a cracking goal.

"I met the players at 6.15 this evening. Scott (Bartlett, academy boss) has been preparing the team.

"I didn't want to sit in the stand - I wanted to get involved straight away. Overall, I was really pleased with the result."
