Stockport County chairman Lord Peter Snape resigns position
Lord Peter Snape has stepped down as chairman of Stockport County and resigned from the board of directors.
The 71-year-old helped County reach an agreement with Cheshire Sport to in November 2012.
"I feel the time is right for someone else to come forward and try to bring some long term stability to the club," he told Stockport's website.
The Hatters are currently 16th in the Conference North table.

Lord Snape continued: "This has been a difficult decision to make and I am very sad to be stepping down. I wish to thank the staff, the board of directors and the fans who have supported me over the last two and a half years.
"It has been a difficult time at Stockport County since dropping out of the Football League, but this feels like the right time for me to step aside.
"Despite our difficulties, I am very honoured to have been able to lead the club that I have supported all my life, and I will always be a County fan first and foremost."
