Cowdenbeath 0-2 Queen of the South
Queen of the South secured an important first away win since October with a comfortable victory at Cowdenbeath.
The hosts threatened first at Central Park as Kane Hemmings' half-volley was saved by Doonhamers goalkeeper Zander Clark.
Paul Burns stabbed in from a yard out after Grant Adam failed to hold on to Iain Russell's low cross.
And Russell went on to get a goal of his own after combining with Derek Lyle to double Queens' lead.
Seventh-place Queen of the South have now made it three Championship games unbeaten and increase the gap between them and ninth-place Cowdenbeath to seven points.
The Blue Brazil will rue not getting a goal from Hemmings' early effort and a subsequent weak header, as the visitors controlled the game in large parts thereafter.
Michael Paton lobbed wide before Burns did put them in front with his first goal of the season.
Hemmings, clearly Cowdenbeath's most dangerous player, rounded 'keeper Clark in the second half but there were no takers for his cross and Queen of the South cleared their lines.
Nice combination play by Lyle and Russell allowed the latter to finish from inside the box and ensure the three points went back to Dumfries.
